i agreed and went along and understood this story throughout the majority of the book. But as it came to to a close the realistic aspect of this story took a very stange turn. When Lolly's nephew Titus comes to town and explains why he was ther and what he needed Lolly kind of looses her new found sence of finding herself. he tells her that to continue her life of freesom she must sell her soul to the devil. This is where i got a little confused since she was in a witch town was she already a witch trying to sell her soul or had she already and thats how she became a witch? By the end of the book Lolly still belongs to someone else: the devil so she is still not true to herself

I agree with the strange turn it took, as well as everyone else who seems to think it took a strange turn. Parts 1 and 2 seemed pretty "normal", but then Part 3 was just crazy. I don't understand the whole witch/devil thing and I got way confused, and am still kind of confused even after talking about it in class yesterday.
