Clytie Myth
The story we read about clytie really interested me and i decided t look more into the myth. I thought how the story tied the two together was done very nicely and made you want to seek other information to learn more about it. THe original myth comes from the term sunflower and relates to how sunflowers turn their heads through out the day to face the sun. This ties in with the story because it talks about the movement and legacy of a lovesick girl Clytie who is in love with Apollo. Clytie fell in love and for a while apollo god of the sun loved her back, but after a while he stopped and she continued to turn her head day after day after the sun ad apollo eventually she turned into a sunflower who needed the sun and was drawn to it as well. Reading this explanation really helped tie the story we read in class for me and i thought was an interesting way to tie in mythology, i really enjoyed reading both.
