The Childrens Hour

I'm late on posting....my apologies.

But when reading "The Children's Hour" I couldn't help but notice that so many people were quick to believe the rumors and allegations...I really think that they did this because Karen and Martha were innovators, they were business women who accomplished success all on their own, which was very rare at that time. So women having that type of drive and power must be tainted, there has to be something wrong with them, was the thoughts of the towns people. Two women working together in a lucrative and education field was to much for them to handle so believing the lie Mary told gave an explanation or put a stigmatism on their success and thats what the people needed in order to understand them.
