Lily Bart

On page 49 Lily starts to get a little ahead of herself by including herself into a society that she has not officially been tied to. Her over-confidence about marrying Mr. Gryce immediately made me think something bad is going to happen. Things are not going to pan out the way she is hoping. Especially because she's making herself out to be someone that she's not. Then just a few pages later she's criticizing these same people for being dreary and trivial and suddenly she's interested in Seldon. I don't think she knows what she wants and she can't have it all. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
